VENUE+PLANNINGHeld at India’s first luxury retail shopping complex, our role was to lead the layout and planning of the Delhi Fashion Week.
HOLDING AREASInstallations and spatial treatments were used to control and guide the visitor movement throughout the venue. The theme for the season was ‘Contemporary India’, and the installations therefore showcased modern interpretations of Indian motifs and elements. Partitions + ScreensEarthenware that was painted and mounted on frames acted as partitions that controlled the visitor flow. At night the lights within each earthen pot would create an interesting backdrop for sound bites.
Ceiling TreatmentsUsing paper kites as the repeating motif, ceiling grids were created so that visibility of the upper floors or the complex was restricted. This also helped control light levels with the venue.
Entry CorridorA textured wall surface in earthy indian colours was created to provide a backdrop for video and sound bites. The wall helped guide visitors to the entrance of the registration areas.
Movement + Screens Squares of reflective material, each rotating individually in response to the wind, acted as partitions and backdrops for the venue.
