Media Installations and Venue Design for the UnBox Design Festival organized by Quicksand Design Studio and held at the British Council. Central installation reflecting the event theme doubled up as a talking point around which workshops and inter-disciplinary discussions were held. The element transformed into an AV installation for the evenings around which informal networking sessions were held. The triangular faces were an extension of the visual language used for the event graphics, while the overall form represented the idea of the looking at things with new perspectives through multidisciplinary collaborations. A play of materials, form, lighting and projections helped create an element that changed dynamically throughout the day.
Central CourtyardA combination of mirror, fabric and metal was used to create the dynamic central installation, as a representation of the theme and visual language of the event.
Networking SessionsDuring the evening the installation was in-lit, exposing the metal framework and acting as the central meeting point for post workshop discussions.
The framework reflected the visual identity of the event which was created using triangular and rhombic forms.
During the post event parties, the installation became a surface for projection mapping.
